Welcome to Student Handicraft Enterprises. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of studenthandicrafts.com and any business relationship you have with us. By using our site or contacting us, you agree to these Terms.

About us

Student Handicraft Enterprises is a wholesale handicraft exporter registered in Nepal (registration no. 67222/061/062, EXIM 3015857100107NP), based in Thamel, Kathmandu. We have been operating since 1999 and supply handmade Nepali handicrafts — hemp bags, felt products, singing bowls, cotton clothing, dream catchers, incense, and related categories — to importers and retailers worldwide.

Wholesale only — not direct retail

Our business model is B2B wholesale. Our published prices, MOQ tables, and product information are intended for importers, retailers, distributors, and buying agents. We do not retail single units to end consumers via the website.

• Minimum order quantities apply (typically 30+ pieces per SKU; some categories require higher).
• Singing bowls and selected metal items are quoted by weight (per gram); final unit cost depends on the actual weight of the items shipped.
• Our showroom in Thamel is open to direct retail visitors during business hours; these Terms govern only online inquiries and wholesale orders.

How orders work

Our site is inquiry-based, not a self-checkout shop:

1. You add SKUs to an Inquiry List on our site and submit it, or you email us directly.
2. We respond within one business day with a quote, total weight, lead time, and shipping options.
3. Once you confirm the quote, we issue a proforma invoice for payment (bank wire).
4. On receipt of payment (full or 50% deposit, depending on order size), we begin production or pull from stock.
5. We ship via your chosen carrier with full export documentation.

Pricing & payment

• Currency: all prices are in US Dollars (USD) unless otherwise stated.
• Quote validity: 30 days from the date of issue, subject to material price and exchange-rate fluctuations.
• Payment: bank wire transfer (T/T). We do not accept credit cards or third-party escrow on the website itself.
• Deposit: orders over USD 2,000 typically require a 50% deposit to begin production, balance before shipment.
• Taxes & duties: our prices are EXW Kathmandu unless otherwise agreed. Import duties, customs clearance, and local taxes at destination are the buyer’s responsibility.

Lead times

Typical production lead time is 14–28 days after payment confirmation, plus international transit of 5–90 days depending on shipping method (air courier, air freight, sea freight). Lead times are estimates, not guarantees — handmade production is subject to artisan availability and seasonal factors (Dashain, Tihar, Holi, Teej are observed holidays).

Shipping

• We ship internationally to over 25 countries. Available methods include EMS, DHL, FedEx, UPS, Aramex, air freight, and sea freight.
• The buyer chooses the shipping method and is responsible for shipping costs unless otherwise agreed (DDP terms available on request).
• Risk transfers to the buyer when the shipment is handed to the carrier.
• We provide full export documentation: commercial invoice, packing list, Certificate of Origin, fumigation certificate if required.

Returns & quality

All products are handmade. Small variations in colour, size, pattern, and finish are inherent to handcrafted goods and are not considered defects.

• Manufacturing defects: notify us within 7 days of receiving the shipment with photographs. We will replace, refund, or credit the affected items.
• Damage in transit: file a claim with the shipping carrier first; we will assist with documentation. Insure high-value shipments.
• Customised items: private-label, custom-branded, or custom-spec orders are non-returnable except for manufacturing defects.
• Buyer’s remorse / change of mind: not accepted on wholesale orders.

Customisation & private label

We accept private-label orders subject to minimum quantities (typically 100+ pieces per design). Custom artwork, logos, or specifications submitted by the buyer remain the buyer’s intellectual property. We retain the right to use generic photos of the finished items for our portfolio unless a confidentiality agreement is in place.

Intellectual property

All content on studenthandicrafts.com — product photography, copy, designs, logos — is the property of Student Handicraft Enterprises and is protected by Nepali and international copyright law. You may not reproduce, distribute, or use our content for commercial purposes without written permission. Wholesale buyers may use our product photos and descriptions on their own retail listings, with attribution where reasonable.

Accuracy of information

We make reasonable efforts to keep product descriptions, dimensions, weights, and prices accurate. However, we do not warrant that the site is error-free. Pricing or specifications may be corrected without notice; we will honour any quoted price that we have issued in writing.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability arising from or related to your use of our site or any wholesale transaction is limited to the amount you paid for the affected order. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages including lost profits.

Governing law & disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Nepal. Any dispute that cannot be resolved by good-faith negotiation will be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Kathmandu, Nepal.

Changes to these Terms

We may revise these Terms from time to time. The revised version will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of our site or services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance.
