Why “Student Handicrafts“?

Back in 1999, the founder of Student Handicrafts Enterprises, Mr. Ram Krishna Bhattarai, was still in high school when he started the company. From the very beginning, Student Handicrafts was all about giving opportunities to students. True to its name, the company has employed a large number of students over the years, especially those interested in Nepali handicrafts and handmade products.

We mainly focus on helping Nepalese students—especially those from rural areas, underprivileged communities, or tough financial situations. They’re always our first priority. We offer training, part-time jobs, and skill-based work depending on what each person is good at. That way, they can keep studying while earning some income.

Over the years, many students have worked with us, and we’re proud to be a small part of their journey. But it’s not just students—we also offer training and workshops to people who need a bit of support. That includes single women, illiterate women, and people with physical disabilities. Our goal is to help them feel more confident and improve their lives through meaningful work.

At Student Handicrafts, our mission is simple: we want to improve the lives of Nepali artisans and share their work with the world. We support small-scale industries and promote real, handmade Nepali arts and crafts in the global market.
